Who knew having kids could change everything? I started this blog to keep my family and friends up to date on all the adventures and mishaps of being a mom.

Daddy

Alex is an amazing father and my kids really are lucky to have him. In fact, he is in the other room making Logan laugh right now while I type this. And was trying to get Logan to crawl forward (he is doing pretty well at backwards) to him. I on the other hand, told him to stop it because I am not ready for 2 mobile children. Here are a few of my favorite pics of Alex and the kids... only a day late :-) Sorry in advance for picture overload... I just couldn't choose which to include.

A spring of zoos

Emersyn has been going through the zoo each spring since she was born. Kind of just phoning in this blog post by doing lots of pics but.....  Here is a timeline of my cutie....

And because she is 2 1/2, there was bound to be a tantrum this year.
Since it is my blog, I am dedicating this to three years of zoo shots with my girl :-)

Notice the hat? I took off the flower and it is now Logan's hat. Springtime zoo trips are now on his schedule too :-)

My Funny Valentine

Emersyn has hit the "silly" stage. Everything is for a laugh. She makes up funny words. She adds "poop" and "boobie" to every conversation because they are funny, etc. She is constantly trying to get people to laugh and it usually works. Here are just a few of the recent silly moments:

Thumbs up and a wink. She does this when she approves of what you are doing.

Taking a picture of me with her camera phone while I take her pic.

Daddy's beanie for morning cartoons is a must.
 In GG's sweatshirt.
I can't wait to see if this little ham becomes the class clown. She is headed that way :-)

The past 2 months

I really haven't posted since my new man came home. Being a stay at home mom with 2 kids under 2 1/2 has left me busy every spare minute. However, it is one of those rare moments in the house where both kids are sleeping and before one/both wake up.... I am taking a moment to blog :)

So what has changed in our house since adding a second kid?

1) I never realized how much I was able to just sit with Emersyn. If I am not feeding, changing, playing with or putting down Logan, I am playing with Emersyn since she desperately needs attention. I never had "me" time anymore.

2) My house is SO dirty. I am lucky it anything gets done.... really!

3) I live for 3:45 when my husband gets home. Finally there is someone else there for me to talk to.

4) I almost never leave the house. My new wardrobe is workout pants and a tee shirt (my poor husband).

5) With Emersyn- if she cried I rushed to get her. I didn't want her to be upset. With Logan- I sit and tell him he is fine and let him cry it out while I finish what I am doing. Don't believe me... he has been crying since #2 on this list :-)

6) I am more happy than I ever imagine. Yes my life is hectic but then I get to look out of the bathroom while peeing since all moms know you pee with the door open and see this...

Side note- the camera was not in the bathroom with me. It was in the office where I could grab it before they saw me and the moment was ruined. :-)

He's finally here

Logan Samuel Lombardi is finally here. He came with the same amount of drama his sister did too. Friday I left work early to get a pedicure since I knew labor was coming soon. After Alex and I went to his parents for dinner and there was a lot of "pressure" but I didn't think anything of it. Alex had hurt himself at work so he took some painkillers before bed and told me not to go into labor... famous last words :-)

I woke up at 2:30 and something just felt off. I went to the bathroom and turned the light on (I normally don't turn on the light for my plethora of bathroom trips each night while pregnant). There was a wet stain on my pajama pants. Since my water broke with E, I instantly knew what was going on. I called out to Alex from the bathroom.... "Alex, time to go to the hospital." To which he yelled back..."I told you not tonight." :-)

We started getting all ready and Logan's head which must have been blocking the leaking fluid at first must have moved because before my mom could get to our house to watch Emersyn, I had leaked through 2 pairs of pants (and I was wearing a pad). I was glad to be in the car and on the way but as anyone who has had their water break- the sensation of having the water leak out at regular intervals is truly disgusting.

My contractions started in the car ride over and we started timing them... 8 min to 5 min to 4 min by the time we got to the hospital. We were put in a triage room and by the time the nurse came into see us they were every 2 min. Thankfully they hurt much less than they did with Emersyn since we were stuck in triage from 3am-6:45am which is a long time for triage. Apparently the ice cold weather caused LOTS of woman to go into labor and we had 2 emergency C-Sections ahead of us. So we waited. It took 2 nurses and a Dr to get my IV in. Poor Alex (who hates needles) was being a champ holding my hand through each attempt until he started getting woozy. The lack of food and painkillers combined was getting to him. The nurses made him eat some crackers and juice so he could make it through the surgery.

Finally it was our turn. They wheeled me back to the OR and got my spinal block in. However, they gave me the super gulp version and I had to tell them I was having trouble breathing. Apparently my blood pressure was dropping a lot. They gave me some meds and extra oxygen and it got better fast. Surgery went quick and Alex (who stood up and watched the whole thing) gave me a play by play so I knew when to expect that first cry.

He was beautiful and perfect. 7 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long born at 7:12am on the 12th... this boy's lucky number is 12 lol

Ok.. time for picture overload :-)

Someone get me a key!

Just another reason I love my smart kid!

On Friday night, Emersyn was sitting on the couch with me watching the newest Tinkerbell movie on Disney. It is a little scary for a two year old so she was cuddling close. I was laying down with her sitting next to my belly. At one point, she starts knocking on my belly like it was a door asking for Logan to come out. I explain to her that Logan can't come out yet.

She sat there for a moment thinking and you could literally see the wheels ticking. The she suddenly exclaims loudly, "I know! A key!"

Oh my sweet little thing... if only it were as easy as getting a key to get this kid out!

P.S.- In January- we may be telling her we are going to the hospital to get a key to get Logan out :-)

TWO!

Emersyn turned two yesterday. I am still floored that my baby is getting so big so fast! I want her to slow down so I can enjoy her hugs and kisses before time slips by and she is a moody pre-teen and thinks I suck. So while she still loves me.... get ready for photo overdrive. We had a family party on Saturday and took her to Arizona Mills on her real birthday (Alex and I took the day off work) to go to the aquarium and then a quick carasoal ride.
